There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Bought a house here in 2020 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

I work in retail here and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market for my field is tough. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The nightlife is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Eastside. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in retail. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Atlanta about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is better than expected.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Feel free to reach out with questions..
