Top 5 things I love about Gloversville

I'm a 36-year-old writer and Average temperature is around 42--F, so bundle up in winter. Homes are going for about $95,500 on average. It's a a small town city with about 15,010 people. Household incomes average around $49,155 in Gloversville. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Am I overthinking this? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from San Francisco about 6 years ago. The main reasons were work and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Close to major attractions
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is underrated.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Happy to answer more specific questions..
