Homes are going for about $368,900 on average. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Has anyone dealt with this? Appreciate any input. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Bought a house here in 2021 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Bought a house here in 2019 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone about the same since then.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is underrated in most areas.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely excellent and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is nightlife. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..
