Considering Golden Valley vs Sacramento -help me decide
Hi all, Rent is about $1,156/month for a decent place. With a population of 7,999, Golden Valley is a small town. Household incomes average around $43,940 in Golden Valley. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. TIA! If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is challenging in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Raleigh about 7 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are manageable, gas is decent.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
