I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions
- The healthcare scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Chicago about 1 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is challenging.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
