Longtime lurker here, Rent is about $2,385/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $1,002,500, which is pretty steep. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Any advice would be great. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 15 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
