Goleta is underrated, change my mind
Anyone else feel this way? Homes are going for about $1,002,500 on average. Am I wrong here?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Charlotte about 2 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is average.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. No regrets on my end..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The school system is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
