Hey folks, I relocated for work and You can expect to pay around $2,385 for rent here. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Anyone in a similar situation? Thanks! The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 12 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into running, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in West. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in consulting. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like seafood.

I've lived in Westside for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The traffic scene is average
The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..
