What Goleta does better than anywhere else
Been meaning to ask this. Homes are going for about $1,002,500 on average.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.
I've been here 4 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for retirement and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The cost of living is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
