Gonzales is underrated, change my mind

Born and raised here. Crime rate is something to consider -Gonzales sits at 202.2 per 100K. The median home value here is around $593,900, which is pretty steep. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Worth the trade-offs? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

I've lived in Midtown for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The safety scene is tough

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited public transit options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.
