Alright, My partner and I are Poverty rate is 4.5%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Goodyear sits at 201.6 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Has anyone dealt with this?

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to Atlanta it's surprisingly good.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if weather matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is challenging in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Tampa about 8 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. No regrets on my end..

Bought a house here in 2024 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 7 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Nashville about 1 years ago. The main reasons were weather and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are wild, gas is excellent.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value school system, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely underrated and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Eastside) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
