Just moved to Goodyear from Boston — first impressions
We made the move 6 ago and here are my first impressions:
The downtown area has been revitalized. Rent runs about $1,848/month for a typical apartment. The weather is great — warm most of the year with an average of 74F.
Biggest surprise: How much I actually like it here
Biggest disappointment: Nightlife is limited
Overall, there are worse places to be.

As someone who moved here from Denver, I can confirm most of this. The friendliness of people surprised me the most.

Check out the Cedar Hills area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

Totally agree with this. I've been here 5 years and my experience is very similar.

I've lived in Oakwood for 11 years and it's still one of the best decisions I made.

The job market has been improving lately. Several finance companies moved in recently.

Don't sleep on Downtown. It's up and coming and still affordable.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Downtown. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

I work in retail and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 4 months.
