Anyone else feel this way? Average temperature is around 74--F, so it's warm year-round. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Raleigh about 15 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is average.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, the quality of life is solid. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great Italian places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Bought a house here in 2017 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
