First post here. We have two kids and Median household income is $209,042, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Worth the trade-offs? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

I've lived in Uptown for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Affordable housing options
- The pet-friendliness scene is decent
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

The food scene here is decent. Tons of great Southern places. it's not perfect but it works for me.
