First post here. Been living here since 2010. It's a a smaller city city with about 34,374 people. Household incomes average around $55,436 in Goshen. Homes are going for about $175,200 on average. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely tough and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Uptown) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Old Town. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Eastside. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in legal. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
No regrets on my end..

Came here for school and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The safety is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
