Anyone else love living in Graham?

Random thought, The median home value here is around $200,600, which is actually reasonable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much developing but now it's better than expected.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

Moved here from Denver about 11 years ago. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Still getting used to outdoor recreation but Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Tampa about 11 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Old Town. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in construction. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Hope this helps!.
