Curious what people think. I relocated for work and Homes are going for about $472,800 on average. Household incomes average around $115,501 in Graham. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Am I overthinking this? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Maple Ridge for 12 years. Moved from Raleigh for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
construction is strong here. tech is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Maple Ridge schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Property taxes are high. And housing market can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 9/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Used to live on the Downtown side, now on the Midtown side. Completely different vibe. it exceeded my expectations.

Bought a house here in 2021 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
