Considering Grand Haven vs Pittsburgh -help me decide

Alright, My family moved here when I was a kid. With a population of 10,966, Grand Haven is a small town. Rent is about $961/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $60,665 in Grand Haven. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What do you all think? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from New York about 3 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Summers can be brutally hot

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are manageable, gas is tough.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Good luck with whatever you decide..
