Should I move to Grand Island or stay in Dallas?

Hey folks, I work in insurance and Household incomes average around $62,439 in Grand Island. You can expect to pay around $913 for rent here. Rent is about $913/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $202,600, which is actually reasonable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely tough and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (West) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

My experience has been mostly positive. it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..
