What's it really like living in Grand Island?

OK so I'm retired and It's a a smaller city city with about 52,761 people. Household incomes average around $62,439 in Grand Island. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
