OK so My family moved here when I was a kid. It's a a smaller city city with about 67,027 people. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. Median household income is $66,676, which feels about average for the area. With a population of 67,027, Grand Junction is a smaller city. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Any advice would be great. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Chicago about 2 years ago. The main reasons were work and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are developing, gas is solid.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Good luck with whatever you decide..
