Grand Junction job market vs Omaha

Hey folks, I'm a remote worker and It's a a smaller city city with about 67,027 people. Homes are going for about $358,300 on average. Poverty rate is 7.4%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Does this match your experience? The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I work in healthcare here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is underrated. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Springfield. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in tech. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
