You can expect to pay around $1,101 for rent here. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.
I've been here 8 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is surprisingly good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Old Town area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it was the best decision I ever made. Feel free to reach out with questions..
