Random thought, Been living here since 2023. Average temperature is around 51°F, so expect cold winters. Median household income is $65,526, which feels about average for the area. Rent is about $1,191/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $225,500, which is actually reasonable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much pricey but now it's improving.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Atlanta it's improving.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Chicago about 14 years ago. The main reasons were family and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is underrated.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.
