Not sure if this has been asked before, but We have two kids and Homes are going for about $225,500 on average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Thoughts? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. I've lived in West for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- The walkability scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 11 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in East area are challenging. Kids love it here.
