Longtime lurker here, Household incomes average around $53,431 in Grandview. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Would love some local perspective. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 2 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Came here for weather and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor recreation is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in South. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in construction. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
No regrets on my end..

I've lived in East for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The nightlife scene is improving
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Happy to answer more specific questions..
