Grandview in the winter -how bad?

Alright, Just moved here 4 months ago and Homes are going for about $171,200 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Bought a house here in 2023 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much reasonable but now it's pretty good.

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 6 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into running, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Uptown for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The community vibe scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'm a chef and I've found it exceeded my expectations. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.
