How much do you pay for rent in Grandview?

Longtime lurker here, It's a a smaller city city with about 25,821 people. The median home value here is around $171,200, which is actually reasonable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Anyone in a similar situation? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the Meadowbrook side. Completely different vibe. the quality of life is solid.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Oak Park. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
