Longtime lurker here, Rent is about $1,112/month for a decent place. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Has anyone dealt with this? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 4 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 11 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
