Relocating to Grandyle Village, NY -pros and cons?
OK so My family moved here when I was a kid. Crime rate is something to consider -Grandyle Village sits at 140.4 per 100K. With a population of 5,000, Grandyle Village is a small town. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. What do you all think? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Minneapolis about 4 years ago. The main reasons were family and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are reasonable, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Definitely worth checking out..

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.
