Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm originally from Los Angeles and Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

I've lived in North for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- The cultural scene scene is improving
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if public transit matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
