So, I relocated for work and Median household income is $117,348, which feels pretty solid for the area. Homes are going for about $302,500 on average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Has anyone dealt with this? The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Came here for weather and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The dating scene is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The food scene is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value public transit, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Downtown) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'm a real estate agent and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is decent and there's always something going on.
