Biggest downsides of living in Grants Pass?

OK so I'm a nurse at the local hospital and It's a a smaller city city with about 39,183 people. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider -Grants Pass sits at 314.5 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.
