Is Grantsville getting better or worse?

OK so Rent is about $1,062/month for a decent place. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Should I be concerned? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The safety is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The outdoor recreation scene is average

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'm a chef and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is tough and there's always something going on.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely pretty good and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Eastside) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is excellent in most areas.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Cedar Grove. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in education. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
