Is Grantsville getting better or worse?

Crime rate is something to consider -Grantsville sits at 301.5 per 100K. The median home value here is around $432,200, which is pretty steep. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Seattle about 8 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are reasonable, gas is improving.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Hope this helps!.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much stable but now it's improving.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The cost of living is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
