Biggest downsides of living in Grapevine?

So, I'm originally from Kansas City and Crime rate is something to consider -Grapevine sits at 121.3 per 100K. Rent is about $1,806/month for a decent place. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Springfield. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in construction. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
