Weekend activities in Grapevine?

The median home value here is around $470,400, which is pretty steep.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Bought a house here in 2016 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Minneapolis about 9 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

The food scene here is underrated. Tons of great Mediterranean places. the quality of life is solid.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much manageable but now it's surprisingly good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Oak Park. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in finance. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2022 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Denver about 4 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is tough.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Came here for weather and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The housing market is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
