Gray is underrated, change my mind
First post here. I'm retired and Poverty rate is 4.5%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $889 for rent here. Rent is about $889/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 3,453 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
Pros:
- Growing food scene
- Close to nature
- Walkable downtown
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events
Cons:
- Cold winters
- Limited nightlife
- Limited dining options
Any advice would be great. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.
