Great Falls is underrated, change my mind
Longtime lurker here, Just moved here 4 months ago and Poverty rate is 7.5%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $237,400 on average. With a population of 60,412, Great Falls is a smaller city. Rent is about $866/month for a decent place. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.
Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events
Cons:
- Not very walkable
- Boring for young people
- Far from major airports
- Limited cultural events
Would love some local perspective. Thanks! The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.
