Starting a business in Great Neck Plaza?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but The median home value here is around $381,900, which seems about average. Rent is about $2,386/month for a decent place. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Any advice would be great. Thanks! The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (West) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely pretty good and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (West) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
