1. The local music scene is really vibrant
2. Several hidden gem restaurants that rival big city food
3. The local craft beer scene is legit

Coming from Dallas, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are cheaper.

Don't sleep on University District. It's up and coming and still affordable.

If you can afford it, Riverside is the best place to live. Period.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Downtown and Cedar Hills are perfectly safe.
