Is Green Bay a good place to retire?

My wife and I are planning to retire in the next few years. We're considering Green Bay because of being near family. Weather is moderate — about 49F average.

Cost of living looks pretty reasonable. How's the healthcare situation? Any retiree communities?

Great post! One thing I'd mention is the west side tends to be more affordable. Makes a big difference.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

Don't sleep on Lakewood. It's up and coming and still affordable.

Rent tip: look for places in fall. Prices drop and there's more availability.
