The good and bad of living in Green

OK so I'm a remote worker and With a population of 7,916, Green is a small town. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I wrong here? The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I love the pace of life here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much affordable but now it's decent.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 5 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
