How is Greenbelt for outdoor activities?

Hey folks, Homes are going for about $258,600 on average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Would love some local perspective. Thanks in advance! Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Minneapolis it's decent.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Portland about 1 years ago. The main reasons were work and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong sense of community
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is improving.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Good luck with whatever you decide..
