I'm a college student here and It's a a small town city with about 14,986 people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 11 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..
