Been meaning to ask this. It's a a mid-size city city with about 299K people. Crime rate is something to consider — Greensboro sits at 818.7 per 100K. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Is this normal for Greensboro?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Baltimore about 1 years ago. The main reasons were work and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is decent.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
