Greensboro is underrated, change my mind

Hey everyone, My family moved here when I was a kid. Rent is about $1,114/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 60°F, so the weather is moderate. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What would you do? TIA! The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Bought a house here in 2021 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

I'm a physical therapist and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. The community is challenging and there's always something going on.

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 6 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Highland for 10 years. Moved from Salt Lake City for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Highland schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Can feel isolated. Limited entertainment options. And dating scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 5/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..
