Just moved to Greensboro from Philadelphia — first impressions

We made the move 1 ago and here are my first impressions:

There are tons of parks and outdoor spaces. Rent runs about $1,114/month for a typical apartment. Weather is moderate — about 60F average.

Biggest surprise: How much I actually like it here
Biggest disappointment: Some areas feel neglected

Overall, there are worse places to be.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Downtown and Northside are perfectly safe.

I work in logistics and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 4 months.

I'd add that the parks here are amazing for families. Otherwise spot on!

The job market has been improving lately. Several healthcare companies moved in recently.

Rent tip: look for places in October-November. Prices drop and there's more availability.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Westside. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Been here 20 years. The city has changed a lot but overall for the better.
