The good and bad of living in Greensburg

Alright, My partner and I are Household incomes average around $63,235 in Greensburg. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I work in construction here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is decent. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from San Francisco about 14 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is decent.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Definitely worth checking out..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Raleigh it's improving.

The food scene here is underrated. Tons of great Mexican places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely excellent and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Westside) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Dating scene is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a sales manager, 33, moved here 11 years ago from LA. I've lived in Fairview and Lakewood, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not a lot of cultural diversity
2. Limited shopping options
3. The public transit situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Fairview: Great for young professionals. improving vibes, walkable.
- Lakewood: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from LA, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $80K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
