Greentree job market vs Raleigh

Hey, I'm a remote worker and Homes are going for about $419,800 on average. With a population of 11,024, Greentree is a small town. The city has invested a lot in new development. Has anyone dealt with this? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in East. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Hope this helps!.

I work in consulting here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is excellent. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely decent and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Riverside) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much affordable but now it's average.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor recreation is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..
